Our neighborhood Baptist Church sponsored a youth group named "Royal Ambassadors". The mission of the group was to instill the principles of good will and teach the members to be examples of model Christian youth.
The group met weekly during the summer. The meetings involved a Bible lesson followed by refreshments. After refreshments, and weather permitting, the group played semi-organized sports such as baseball or football. Charlie and I occasionally attended a meeting, but only if the weather was good.
At one meeting, the Bible lesson focused on forgiveness and respect for our fellow man. After the Bible lesson the group was headed to the kitchen for ice cream. One of the group, George, caught up with Charlie and said something that made Charlie's neck turn red.
Charlie forgot the Bible lesson. He aimed a left hook at George's face. George went home with a bloody nose.
Charlie did not ask for forgiveness.
